We're in the luxury position where we have loads of stuff to do. We don't have one minor faction like most other groups in game but three (Sirius Corp, Sirius Inc and possibly the new SI Terraforming one, four if we count the one we're planning on adopting) so we have loads of areas to play in.
But if we want to achieve anything in game it would be nice not to spread our efforts too thin. I'll still support any Sirius related faction if I visit their system but it would be good to determine where our priorities lie. Is it Sirius Corp? Thats what this group did originally if I understand correctly. Is it Sirius Inc our player faction? Or will it be the new corporate SI terraforming faction?

Sirius Corp. does not really "belong" to us... but we do our best to promote it (as part of the Sirius family). It's a pre-existing minor faction, and spread across multiple systems. We're still working on a mission statement... joved.freeforums.net/thread/143/ideas-sirius-charter-statement-idealsPriority #1: The well-being of Sirius Inc. (our proxy minor faction), and SI Terra (if implemented) Priority #2: The well-being of Sirius Corp. (minor faction; "parent" company) Priority #3: The well-being of Sirius Gov and Utopia (PowerPlay factions) EDIT: Apologies Mendelt, Ollo and I had several conversations about this. Next week, I'm going to start working on new content. You arrived at a very interesting time

Suggested revisions for mission statement:
---------------------
Mission Statement:
Here at Sirius Inc, our primary mission in ED is to have fun! We endorse solo, open and private play... cooperative PvE, PvP, combat, exploration, mining, and trade.
Our activities include support of PowerPlay factions, Sirius minor factions, influence boosting, expansion and other background sim. interactions. We also role-play, and would like to expand use of this narrative tool.
1.) We support Sirius Gov and Antal PowerPlay factions, with strict separation protocols unless activity is deemed necessary & mutually beneficial.
2.) We support the Sirius Corporation minor faction, Sirius Inc (our main player-sponsored group, based in the San solar system).
3.) We solidify our recent acquisition of Sirius Hyperspace in the Ngalia system (very close to San).
4.) We support Community Goals throughout the galaxy.
5.) We embody sound business practices, technological research, and *mostly* peaceful expansion.
6.) We maintain peaceful societies through high-quality markets, low prices, and Augmented Reality (VR) tools (as per our supply agreements with Utopia).
7.) We have cordial relations with the Alliance and the Federation. Agreements with the Hudson PowerPlay faction has facilitated the expansion of Sirius Corporation around the Sirius system (for purpose of obtaining the Sirius system permit).
8.) We are indifferent towards the Empire. Thanks to our distance from Imperial space, trade links are tenuous (at best).
9.) Presently, we operate as a kind of Public Benefit Corporation. .. with a board of directors, and internal promotion of active/competent members. However, we encourage the free exchange of ideas (by members and non-members alike).
10.) We seek diplomatic engagement, and cooperation with all fellow players.
EDIT: I believe this is still open for revision, right Ollo?

Part marketing to new players. One of the many complaints ive had previously is that our group had to a narrower focus.
To sell a group to bring on board new interested members you need activities, you also need a professional look, you need to create content and have variety.
It seems we are a little thin on the group, by having more inhouse options, varied things for new members to do, we present an appearence of being active, which attracts others which in turn we will be busy enough with all 4 options.
Think of flexible priorities, at the moment sirius inc is a 2 system minor and even by myself its easy enough to expand it. Sirius corporation is our bedrock long term involvement and we continue to still be the largest group supporting the minor faction. I create content, get involved and bring in allied groups to help us achieve our aims, leveraging important contacts like ben ryder and favala , cmdr chero and others who are associate members who support us but are active on allied platforms.
So part future proofing, part hype/mareketing, part varied things to do without getting bored
Attracting commanders in elite dangerous for all groups is extremely difficult theres a solo mindset. Its even more difficult for indepdant groups ( in terms of not being fed, imperial or alliance)
You guys are doing a lot of good work behind the scenes, what we need most now is to finish the changes/enhancements that me and incognet have in progress and to get more registered and active members, increase guests taking an interest in us, make a name for ourselves and in the end have a lot of fun.
But its tkane 5 and a half months to get this far , there is slow and steady acceleration, so dont be to scared by the changes, theres feedback coming in, where it matters changes are being made slowly and steadily. Not aiming to be a large mega group but an active base of 20-40ish members is desired we are a bit short of that atm. So working towards that.
Feel free to comment we are in a luxury position but working hard to keep things moving and to keep this good position and a base for growth we are in.
