Glad you like it! I'm not going very fast at the moment. I rediscovered bounty hunting so I'm mostly getting my python blown up in high intensity res sites right now :-) But as I'm writing it I'm finding lots of things I want to try out (all the <needs verification> stuff). So I have my work cut out for me... but I will keep working on it. When I'm finished I'll probably pick something else to write a tutorial on. Maybe the background sim as I'm finding out there is lots of stuf about it I dont know yet.

The background sim may need to be a collective project. There is much we understand, intuitively, but have not bothered to write down.

Any of these can be collective projects I think. I don't mind opening the mining doc up to others if anyone wants to add anything. Although I'm perfectly happy typing the first version myself too.

I would like to see a local/regional mineralogical survey (eventually). That's just what I've been doing near near the Sirus Inc systems. I only did a quick survey so far but things are looking good. Only pristine reserves everywhere and I did find a system with a metallic ring one jump away. We should be able to find large amounts of painite, osmium, platinum and palladium there. Lots of money to be made and progress to be made for our faction! |

Another update. Added a first description of mining in wings.
TLDR:
Rocks give out a full set of fragments for each cmdr. So when you find a good rock make sure each cmdr in your wing mines it.
Collector limpets from different players destroy each other, make sure you only have one ship collecting fragments (so only one ship in your wing needs a refinery, the others have extra cargo space!)
Use prospector limpets, they increase the yield of rocks.
When dividing mined ores MAKE SURE YOU SELECT "Jettison (ABANDON)"!!! otherwise the cargo containers are marked as stolen and become illegal
