Ok we will be getting our own ingame faction once 1.4 drops early next week. We had the name sirius inc suggested, however Fdev wanted some slight tweaks based on it being to close to sirius corporation * which we will continue to support*
So our Adapted name will be SI Terraforming (Sirius inc terraforming) i wont disclose just yet the system it will be placed in. It will be available to a few active members who i will ask to assist us in expanding it into a second system before we make it more publicly available so as to avoid someone working against us until we can establish it as a presense. It is a fair distance from our Sirius cluster and the terrafomring colonies but it is on the outer edge of space.
It gives us our own ingame faction to support. So more news in due course.

Do you expect the in-game faction will be modeled as an independent, "Corporate" minor? Or possibly as independent, "Investor" minor? As we are a subsidiary of Sirius Corporation, the latter one is plausible...

My description asked for it to be a indepdant terraforming and investment subsidary of sirius corporation. Devs have said they may make some changes so it may just be a generic corporate / independant description im still not sure as i havent seen the updated 1.4 beta. and with the 1.4 changes going live, first thing ill be doing is making a trip to our new home system to check it out once it goes live. The 4 SI members are aware of its location but as discussed we will be expanding first before slowly bringing in other members to assist us so as to avoid 5th colomining that may get in our way at least initally.

Has the placement of our minor faction been delayed?
EDIT: I see it now, but it's bugged. Wrong government type, and different name. I *hope* the name is a bug... I prefer SI terraforming. It helps to differentiate us from Sirius PP group.

Ah yes it seems they waved through the original faction name with a tweaked gov type ( all decisions were final of course) my description sent after they deemed the name to close to sirius corporation was obviously reversed and they disregarded SI terraforming. Maybe with a decision that the government type needed to be changed and waving the name through. Ive had no email contact ill contact em but at this point i would say we have a democratic government under sirius inc name. So we can leave the SI terraforming idea dead i guess but we have our own faction now

It's a bad decision. With Elite faction nomenclature, "Sirius Inc" = corporation. If we are a democracy, then the name should be "Sirius Republic" or "Revolutionary Party of Sirius". Someone is asleep at the wheel. We need to protest the decision. Even if it was intentional, it makes no sense. I saw the faction suddenly appear, and have seen some wild fluctuations of influence level. I think that "Sirius Inc" was supposed to replace the "San Exchange", but someone didn't update their spreadsheet properly. I've been supporting the minor, but I'm doing it with the expectation that devs will fix.

The location is secret (for now)... known only to 4 people. Once we get an expansion, Ollo plans to invite more people. (So... later this week, or early next week? It's hard to say, with changes to background simulation) The name, and government type, are subject to change. Frontier has not responded to our complaints (yet). We might remain "Sirius Inc", or we might be re-branded as "SI TERRA"/"SI Terraforming". |

Yeah until we get an expansion its location shall remain closed to our working group. We have restricted it to the 5 most involved members of sirius inc as a bit of a reward to active particpation rather than just members who drop by once a week for a lookie. Once we get it to where we want it it will be opened up to the wider group
In the meantime sirius corporation still needs assistance in all of its areas, we are encouraging rare trade goods of sothis gold outwards to help develop that system.
Our xxxxx system with SIterra/Sirius inc (depending on devs and no response from devs yet) my guess is it may be closed but ill await. The system and influence progress is doing very well once a civil war is over we will work on expansion status

I sent another, more forceful, letter to Frontier. If they don't reply soon, I'll take the issue to public forums (with name of system redacted). I'm not going to let this go. The illogical name & government type break my immersion. It's 2 lines of text (ie: easy to fix), and if they have some rationale for the name/type, they NEED to share it with us.

well in our secret system we are close to expansion once that happens we will reveal its location so others can come and assist us with further expansion and so forth, we have reached nearly the end of the civil war and 80% influence, we will then focus on gettin expansion to fire and the next stage

Ok a quick update sirius inc nw has its first expansion system under control and we have expanded into the pic tok system. So if u wish to assist us come out to pic tok and help sirius inc to gets its influence up
We had been thinking that the expansion would be to iapodes as it is quicker to the HQ system of sirius inc of San but we have gone to pic tok which is 3000 population so should be very easy to flip to our favour quickly

I think we may be waiting for awhile on FDev to make changes... but it's not like there is an expiration date. As I understand it, several other player groups have issues with their name/gov't/placement. Maybe we'll get *something* fixed with the next patch? |
